Dragon Ball

A manga and anime series created by Akira Toriyama, about the adventures of an alien named Goku who strives to become stronger and if not, the strongest fighter in the universe. There are three parts to the iconic franchise: Dragon Ball which covers Goku's youth and his story of how he came to Earth, Dragon Ball Z which covers his adventures as an adult and more recently Dragon Ball Super, which is a continuation of his stories as an adult with his family, friends and new enemies. Dragonball GT is another telling of the show after Dragonball Z, but does not adapt content from the manga written by Akira Toriyama. It has original content but shares the same characters within the Dragon Ball universe. The iconic dragon balls, to which the series gets its name is a set of 7 mystical items, that when gathered together, summons a magical dragon that grants its user one powerful wish.
